I would like to delete the password that is required to activate my Laptop.
I know the password, I just don't want to have to use it any more to activate the Lappy.

in XP go to Start > Control panel > User Accounts > Change an Account > Change Password

I believe 2000 is similar, other than that i'm unsure

It's not the Windows Password, but a Password that comes up immediately after you start the machine up.

your BIOS

you need to go into the "set-up" mode to change or eliminate it.

i get mine by repeatedly clicking F2 at boot, but different BIOS have different "keys".

if you dont know yours look in manual or if you dont have it search on line, that's how i found mine.

do you get a start screen? maybe with set-up on it?
