I ahve a SONY DVD Wtiter D22A, will not burn to DVD-R discs, ok with others. I cannot find any updates for this. Anyone help please?

Not resolved, it would seem that the easiest answer would be to replace the DVD-R for DVD+R discs or a new burner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It burns +R, but I bought -R (50) which are useless. No downloads, no Firmware etc etc . The writer is not supported by SONY as it is not actually SONY but Online I believe or something like that, and they wont help either.
Found some old links to help but out of date spent hours searching.
Oh well such is a PC, blink and out of date!

Yeah, so many folks have problems with writable DVDs - especially when they wander away from the brand names. I just don't think the precision needed for accurate reads and writes all that data is maintained on the less expensive (and even some high end) drives. Going for the best blanks helps too - but is no guarantee.
