Hello everyone! I have recently begun expereiencing boot problems with my computer. Upon restart, my computer hangs directly after the memory is checked. The system hangs at the same point with each reboot. The dialogue present on the screen at the time of the freeze is:
Press F2 To Enter System Configuration
Press F11 For Boot Menu
Dual Channel Memory Mode
Then the system ceases to proceed with bootup. There are no beep codes to indicate particular device failure. I've tried accessing the BIOS, but the first line of dialogue just changes to indicate your selection, and then hangs at the same spot. The computer has only booted 3 times since this program began. I've had to manually restart the system 30 - 50 times to get this to occur.
Has anyone expereinced such an issue? I suspect a motherboard or bios issue, but it's impossible to troubleshoot as the system refuses to load. Some information about my hardware setup follows:
ASRock 775PSV+ Motherboard
3ghz Pentium 4 Socket 775 Prescott Core Processor
PC3200 400mhz Corsair Value Ram 512MB x 2
Seagate ATA-5 120 GB Hard Drive
No floppy drive
If anyone could help me with this issue I would greatly appreciate it.
