Ram Problem
Hi guys I bought 2 stick of Corsair Sodimm PC2700 333MHz DDR 512mb memory sticks for my Compaq Parsario 2199CA but when I put them in my computer it just keep rebooting in loops. Also on the ram stick there is a number, I'm thinking its the number of pins and the one that was in my laptop says 200 and the Corsair says 199 also the pins seam like thire off a bit from each other. Can anyone tell what I can do to fix this or what id going on, I bought the exact Ram that I was supose to?

Have you compared the new RAM modules to the old? Do the contacts/edge gaps line up? (Is this what you meant above, or did you mean pin locations while the new module is in the slot?)
With the original RAM in the machine, go to http://crucial.com/ and run their memory scanner. It will give you the specs on your installed memory, and the type/specs you need for upgrading. Physical charicteristics are only one aspect of choosing memory. Parity, ECC, Non-ECC, etc are also factors.

How was it determined that this was the correct RAM?
