I have a HP Pavilion a1247c and the hard drive that was in it had been giving me problems. I tried to start the computer and it kept giving me an error about boot failed and to insert the boot CD. Assuming the hard drive had died, I went out and bought a Seagate SATA 500Gb hard drive. Took the old hard drive out and put the new one in. When I enter the setup in the beginning, it doesn't even detect the hard drive. It does detect my two CD drives though. So when I put in the windows CD I hit F6 when it says to to install a SCSI or RAID device. I don't have the drivers I need though. So when I exit out of that to continue with the install it then recognizes the hard drive and attempts to install. I get as far as when it starts to install windows and tells me it has 37 minutes left and it won't do anything after that. The install will just stop. I don't have discs for the system because the computer did not come with any and I would have to order them from HP. All I have is a windows XP disc. Can someone give me some help?
