Hi Sammy and welcome to Tech Help Forums. Let me start by saying you should avoid reformatting at all costs! Note that reformatting causes you to lose everything - including all your data, email, favorites/bookmarks, critical updates, installed programs and updates to those programs, all your security defenses and updates, installed and updated hardware drivers, and more. Depending on how old your original CDs are, you could end up YEARS behind in security and critical updates. Formatting and reinstalling is ALWAYS a last ditch effort.

That said, do not attempt this unless you have all the original disks from Dell. This should include a recovery disk that will take your Dell back to out-of-the-box state.

Perhaps if you tell us why you want to format, we can work on that problem, and alleviate the need for a format.
