Hey all i'm new to the site

My friend has recently bought a pcchips k8 m860 mobo it came bundled with a sempron 2800+ sckt754 he also has dual ddr400(valueram)1024mb in 2 512mb sticks he had a geforce 5700 128mb. he stuck it all together but got nothing an i mean nothin the tower boots but there's no display no beeps no hdd light he's convinced its not a power/wiring problem but im not sure because its the 2nd board he's had in a week and had exactly the same problem we thought it may have damaged the graphics card when he removed it an put it in new mobo so he went an bought a new 1 today an still the same probs. i got him to change the power switch cable round on the mobo header and now atleast the green light comes on on the tower but still no display and no beeps

Any ideas????

Try starting with no RAM installed. Does it beep?

If so try one stick of RAM. What happens?

Assuming both main 24 pin power and 4/8 pin 12V power are connected.

Assuming the case or board speaker works.
