    Non-system boot disc,new built comp

Hello, when I try to install windows for the first time,it just says non system boot disc, please insert one and hit enter, and i've tried 4 different discs, and one of them is a oem disc not an upgrade disc. I'm trying to install windows xp and have tried 2k just cuz. It's a Asus 690i AM2 socket motherboard with every piece is new,2 1g RAM sticks and Geforce 8800 GTX and the 3Gig AMD processor, don't remember model name. What are the possible fixes for this,in bios it recognizes my CDrom and my hardrive. And i've set the boot order properly to fix media test error at boot. Any assistance would be appreciated, thanks. I just searched this problem on the internet and went to a few different sites and the fixes for all these i've done except maybe i missed something in BIOS. But i set it to boot off the CD rom which it does recognize, thanks

If the BIOS detects the CD-ROM and the CD-ROM is set to boot prior to the HDD then I can only guess either the CD-ROM is faulty or all the disks you are trying are not true boot disks. Don't know what else to think.

You could try the 6 floppy XP setup disks that prepare the computer for the CD:
