Hi,

I have a gateway 510 XL computer with a flash memory card reader part # 5502423. When I try to to read a SD, Compact flash,etc... It gives me the error message F:/ not accessible Incorrect function. I have reinstalled the drivers,, but it still doesnt work. Windows XP says they are working fine, but still nothing. Any ideas?
I thought it might not be working so I looked for a new one, but it seems to be out of stock or discontinued. Not surprising since it is old. I thought of removing it; if I coulnt resolve issue. I need to find a 3.5 " face plate to put in its place. Anyone know where I can get one.

You can get card readers as seen here:

They are just an internal USB connection. You do not need the exact Gateway model.

You might try going to the Device Manager and uninstalling your current reader then reboot. This will force XP to reload the drivers.
