beep beep beep driving me nuts
Hi. I have a home built system running WinXP SP2, Gigabyte Mobo and Intel P4 2.8 processor with 1GB of RAM. 160GB Hard drive.
I get this constant beep beep beep about every second. This does not happen all the time but when it starts I usually have to shut down and let it set for a while before firing it up again.
I have added 3 additional fans and the cpu fan and power supply fans are all running fine. The power plug is seated properly and all cables have been checked and rechecked.
Anybody got a suggestion?
Thanks in advance.

What is the exact model from Gigabyte?
Is this a new problem?
The particular BIOS might have details in its' Beep Code but I would guess heat.
Do you monitor your CPU temperature?
Next suggestion would be to MemTest your RAM.

Gigabyte 8IP775/-G
Is this a new problem?
Started about a year after the build, so has been ongoing for about a year now.

I downloaded the temperature monitoring software you suggested. Will fire it up and see what I get. Thanks.
Next suggestion would be to MemTest your RAM.
Once I check temperature readings, I will follow up on the memtest. Thanks again.
I have wondered about the heat. Added additional fans and have the side covers off, which in some books/threads/minds, does not help aleviate heat at all.

This problem has been resolved. System went to a non boot state. Would not even run POST. Replaced mobo. Same issue. Replaced Power Supply. Bingo. All systems go. no beeping and running smoothly once again.
