A problem with the hard drive message

I am receiving the following message on all boots warm or cold. "A problem has been detected with the hard drive has been detected. Consult troubleshooting section of your user's manual. Press Enter to Continure."

Fortunately, all important files have been back up recently. I started to do a reload. As I was running Windows Updates, I started to get messages stating that I had corrupt files and to run CHKDSK utility. I have run the utility three times with different results as far as finding a bad sector.

My question for the group is: Is this a sign of a hard drive headed to see the computer gods?

    Thanks in advance.

Sounds like it. However, go to the web site of the drive manufacturer and see if you can download a diagnostic tool from there to tell for sure. Most do them nowadays.
