    Hard Drive has 0 KB

I don't know what happen to my 2nd internal hard drive -160GB(storage only). I stored all my vacation videos, musics, family pictures, and other programs. I still have 75GB left but one day I came home and couldn't access to my storage drive anymore. When I opened that hard drive, it kept telling me to reformat the drive. This is not what I want to do because I have valueable stuffs in there. I checked my drive by going to My Computer ---> Right click on D drive ---> click Properties. It has 0 KB and the drive is blue. My computer is Windows XP Prof., SP2, AMD Athlon 1800+, 1.5GHz, 768 RAM, ATI, and 2 hard drives( C drive 80GB, D drive 160GB). I have ZoneAlarm Pro as my 2nd firewall, and my anti-virus program is up-to-date. What caused my hard drive to have 0 KB? Is there a way that I can recover all my files and folders back?
A great appreciation for all your help. Thank you.

Who is the manufacturer of this drive?

Most manufacturers have diagnostics that you can download and run.

Do you have a floppy drive? That is the easiest way to run the diagnostic.

In general Windows color codes files and folders: Green = Encrypted; Blue = Compacted. I am not certain if this applies to the drive letter you see as well.

In a worse case scenario there are recovery softwares you can try such as:

This is always a good place to start and learn more although the pages download very slowly:
