Graphics Drivers

    "... I may have given the wrong graphics card name as the Holtek one was on the same card."

    I'd never heard of Holtek, hence nothing flashed in the brain. ;>|

    The card may be manufactured by Holtek, but it uses the S3 chip. Holtek must have done some tweaking on the card if those drivers are not working.

    Just found a driver. Quote from the source site;

    "This is the correct driver for this particular video card. This video card is actually manufactered by S3. There is a chip on it with the company name Holtek with the numbers HT27C512-70. Holtek is NOT the actual Manufacturer of this video card."

    So therein lies the "tweak". They've altered something to make it slightly different.

    It is S3, but altered. jephree retains his throne. ;>)

    The driver is too large to attach, and you need membership at the source site. I'll upload it to my webspace for you to download.

    PLEASE ADVISE HERE when you get it so I can remove it and reclaim the space on my ISP server.

    Here's the direct download link;

    http://www.cyberus.ca/~danpenny/Savage4.zip

    Unzip the driver to somewhere convenient. (I suggest a new empty folder due to the number of files in it.)

    Go to
    "Control Panel"
    "System"
    "Device"
    Select "Video Display"
    Click on "Upgrade" and follow the prompts/instructions.

    This driver will give you 16 bit & 32 bit True Color.

    It installed fine, but once I restarted the computer, it decided to revert to the standard PGA card
