Hi all
I was asking if anyone can help as i wanted to know I have external speakers, basic cheap ones that when I used to switch on they used to work fine, and they still do work. I just recently bought a new printer and when I started printed the computer speaks i'e Start Printing , and then when the printing work has finished, a sound states " Printing Finshed". THE EXTERNAL SPEAKERS ARE NOT EVEN PLUGGED IN.This never used to happen before, or have I just realised that there is another speaker inside my computer.
Cheers Max
Are you asking how to stop the audio messages?
If so, go into the printer software program (which you probably loaded for this printer) and look for either Options or Properties controls/dialogs. There will most likely be controls in there to disable the audio output.
Some older machines did have a 2" speaker inside, and in today's systems this has (generally) been replaced by a small piezo "speaker/cell". These are meant for system hardware beeps and warnings.
Windows 3.1 did have a speaker driver which would incorporate the computer internal peaker for playing .wav etc files. The sound delivered through these items however leaves a lot to be desired.
