monitor blank..been through several steps already..help plz :)
may be long..gonna go over what's been goin on. please read all as I've alread done a lot of steps to fixing it.
last sunday I was playing a game, stepped away to get a drink and walked back in to see my computer monitor flicker out..displayed a "no signal" and the screen was blank...
I rebooted and I could hear windows boot up, but my sceptre lcd would still say "no signal" for the dvi slot.
I tried my xbox360 which is also connected to the same monitor just to the VGA slot on the back and it worked fine.
still I went and got a spare monitor which uses VGA (with a VGA>DVI adapter) and it didn't work either.
Now the xbox360 can stream music, movies, etc from the computers harddrive ONLY if the computer is on (of course)...so when I boot the computer I hear everthing load into windows..and sure enough I can play the music/videos/look at pics OFF the computer HDD using the xbox console..
so that tells me the computer IS booting.
I went out and bought a dummy 7600GS graphics card to test to see if it was that...sure enough..new card didn't work...so returned it.
So I thought only other thing it could be was a motherboard failure. Afterall the built in LAN port on the MB had already stopped working. So I orded a replacement MB.
got new MB, took old out..installed it..booted it up..everything worked FINE..reinstalled all the drivers and whatnot and all was good..computer was back working again.
I of course had to reboot several times while doing the drivers and it booted up flawlessly each time.
got done with all the drivers and spent the rest of the night testing out and playing some games n whatnot...titans quest, eq2, couple other games plus just double checked all programs were working like my video player..music..etc..internet..whatever
booted it up the next morning and it again ran fine, no issues..no sign of troubles...this was yesterday (friday) morning.
got home late friday night and went to boot up to check e-mail and whatnot...and..now I'm getting a "no signal" message again...and it's doing what it was doing before all over again...the computer boots..I can hear it...the xbox360 will read and play things off the computers harddrive...the monitor works fine displaying the 360..just...no display for the computer AT ALL. I mean not even while it's loading the BIOS or anything.
anyone have any ideas what to do next? I'm out of ideas on what could be wrong...I've tried a new monitor, graphics card..none worked...finally did a new MB and it worked..for one night and the next morning..now it's back to just not displaying anything for the computer..."no signal".
any help is appreciated..

could the power supply be on its way out? Can't power the Video card? What else are you running hardware wise? I have had similar problems and I unplugged a couple of things from the pci slots and it worked. I knew then it was the PS.
