First let me thank you for any and all help. My g/f's notebook computer is no longer working for her and I don't know why. She leaves it plugged into the wall and doesn't keep it on for extremely long periods of time. Yesterday it was working normally, she powered it down at night and when she tried to boot up this morning the computer would not turn on. I tried turning it on with and without the power cord connected, tried changing the battery and yet still the computer just won't turn on. Any ideas on what the problem might be? Thanks again.

Do you get any lights on or anything to indicate that power is getting through to the unit or to charge the battery?

What if you remove the battery and plug the power lead in, does it work then?

There are no lights that light up on the computer when I hit the power button also I haven't had a chance to remove the battery and try to power up with just the power cord. I will try that later tonight when I have the chance but lets assume that doesn't work then what are my options? And if it does work does this mean its a faulty battery?
