would changing my 10gig harddrive make my computer run faster as it is so slow it was fast last week but now to forever to write this i have 800 meg a 550 dual chip and the machine is a blaster pc its freezimg and takes 20 sec to do things wat can i do

changing the hard drive wont make it any faster.

how much RAM have you got?

is it getting warm, have you changed any hardware or software recently?

its hanging and freezes and takes to long to load ive changed nothing it also now wont defrag the harddrive properly it has nearly 800meg of ram and it is not getting hot last week it ran like a v8 this week it like a 4cylinder

have you tried defragging in safe mode?

to get to safe mode press F8 just before it boots

what antivirus and firewall are you using, do you have any anti spyware programmes?
