Exclamation Why Wont My Computer Start?

I have a desk top computer and monitor that I've been using for 3 years, with no problem until now.

When I start up my computer, it powers up, but the monitor doesn't come on.

I know that the monitor is working because, I have connected it to another computer.

There is usually a beep when the CPU starts up, however, it is not happening...no beep.

There is a sound like something trying to engage, but no bleep and no monitor images.

The disks drives on the CPU open and close as usual.

Before it stopped working, altogether, I had to turn the computer on and off, to get the computer to bleep and the monitor to come on.

Once it came on it worked perfectly...now it wont start at all.

Any ideas or advice as to why this is, will be welcome.

    Thanks

Try using the reset button rather than on/off.

Next to that you will need to open it up or take it to a shop.

If you are comfortable opening it up remove all the RAM and try to power on.

Does it BEEP then? If not your motherboard or Power Supply has serious issues.

If it does BEEP (and it should BEEP BEEP BEEP) try reseating just one stick of RAM. If this does not work try different sticks in different slots etc.

Yes that is the reset button.

Start with the main button ON then reset.
