Can anyone tell me what could be wrong with my monitor, it has gone from having a 17inch screen to a 14inch screen with 2 black borders either side.
i have tried to change the bottons on the monitor to adjust the screen size, but it says it is 100%.
any advice would greatly be appreciated.

Have you tried changing your monitors refresh rate??
Go to Control Panel, then open Display.
Click on the Settings tab.
Click on the Advanced button at the bottom right.
Click on the Adapter tab at top.
Then, under the heading Refresh Rate, click on the down arrow and left click on "Optimal".
Then, click on Apply and OK.
Re-boot the computer.
