Building PC Problems
Preface:
I have built several PC's and have never had this kind of trouble before. I decided to salvage a PC that I had previously built for a family member. They didn't take care of they system very well and it was full of bugs. Needless to say the motherboard died and I took it back.
Hardware:
Anyway. I just bought a new late model Intel Motherboard (D850MV) and a new P4 2.8ghz Socket 478 with 533 FSB processor which should be compatible with this board. I am using the same 512mb PC800 RDRAM from the last PC, same ATI 128MB 8xAGP video card, and a new HD which I planned to load WinXP Pro on. Everything else, lan, sound, etc. is integrated on the motherboard.
The problem:
Everything installed. Everything powers up, but no boot or CMOS screen. To trouble shoot I used RDRAM from another PC and that did not work. I used another video card from my other PC and that did not work. The Board and CPU are new. Do you think either is bad? What are the other possibilities?
