Hi - just joined and am about to test you..lol..heres the problem..prob not a big deal for you but for us old guys its a headache..

I just bought a new Compaq sr1930nx...everything on it works great..no problems at all..but when i hooked up my web cam it completely froze the computer..couldnt do anything..have to unplug it and turn it completely off then restart.. as soon as i plug the cam in it freezes up.. i installed the same software that i used on my last computer but it didnt help..

when i plug it in the computer tells me ' new hardware found ' so i guessing the port works..and ive plugged it onto 3 usb ports all the same result..but thats as far as it goes..im using windows XP and the cam worked fine on my old compter with XP - any ideas? do i need drivers? or is it possible the cam just wont work with this computer? buy a new one? i have my comp def has enough space and memory - 200G/512..

its an older cam ( i cant even remember what brand ) for some reason i think its a logitec..not sure though..

any ideas would be greatly appreciated..

Thanx in advance

Steve
