USB Problem
Hi there, I'm new to this site, so I'm sorry if I don't use the right language! I have a computer hard drive box that has 2 USB ports at the front. Ever since we got the computer, any external device or thumbstick we put in was recognised as "removable device E". The other day, one of my sons, and his friend put 2 thumbsticks in both drives at the same time, now his thumbstick registers a "F" and any movies or music he saves cannot be read on his school or home computer like it used to when it was "E". To confuse things even more, the USB still registers as "E" with everybody elses devices. I have gone to properties to see if I can change the destination, but I can't seem to find anything. I hope I make sense!! If there is anyone out there who might be able to help, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks Donna

Drive letters are assigned arbitrarily outside of A: floppy > C: system > D: DVD/CD
E: and or F: in themselves should not be affecting anything.
I would suggest formatting his thumbstick. This will erase all data.
To do this right click F: under My Computer and choose Format > Quick Format.
Remove after format and then reinsert.
This should make the drive like new and upon reinsertion it should act like any other device and be E:
