hello,

I have a year old computer that i had custom built by people i thought new what they were doing.
The last few weeks I have been getting the error
boot from atapi disk.......
or even hard drive failure.
After asking the guys who built it for help they said the hd was going to die and you need a new one, you will have to install all your software again.
"Rubbish" i thought knowing that you can transfer one hd to another.
So i did it myself, sucessfully untill today were now it asks me to
boot from atapi..... about twice then works perfectly.

I have researched this and changed my bios to boot from hd first, got auto detect on, and checked the wires are connected.

Do you think that it is something else causing the problem like wires or the os.

Strange!

Please help I have looked at every website possible.
