Help needed.
I've got a problem with my computer. I turn it on powers up but fails to go any further. At first I thought it was the graphics card (Tyan Tachyon Radeon G9600PRO 8xAGP 128MB DDR VGA/DVI/S-Video/Hardware) as an alarm would sound. Not just that, some time I would get 2 or 3 alarms sounding. At first I could reset the computer and evenually it would boot up, but then it just stopped doing that. So I decided to get a new graphics card (Gecube Radeon X1300 512mb DDR2 AGP) hoping that it would solve the probem, but I put it in and still nothing happens.
I have:
: AMD ATHLON XP2200+ (Thoroughbred) Processor Skt A 266MHZ FSB 256kb Cache OEM Processor
: Asus A7V8X-X SKT A KT400 8x AGP DDR Sound lAN USB 2.0
: 2x Kingston 256MB DDR PC2700 333MHz 184pin Non-ECC CL2.5 Memory Module
:Coolermaster Aero7 Lite Fan Upto Xp3200 Skt A with Speed Adjustment
:400 Watt PSU P4 Ready
Please can someone help.

I would suggest removing the RAM then reseat just one stick.
If you get the same beeps try one stick in a different slot.
Can you determine the pattern of the beeps?
That board has an Awards BIOS which isn't that easy to read: http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm
Most beeps are associated with a RAM fault.

Have tried the RAM in different slots but not just leave one in. Will try.
The Beeps were was a high pitch tone on off on off coming from the graphics card. If I was lucky then after a few resets then another one would sound but would be a deeper tone.
I have been thinking that the motherboard could be at fault, so starting to think about replacing it.

I would try a different graphics card first.

I'm on my second graphics card and it still doesn't work.
