I just got a new battery for my laptop (hp pavilion ze1202) and a new issue has arisen. It seems if I turn on my laptop using just battery power, the monitor will not turn on. I can hear the computer working, and the lights on the keyboard light up, just no monitor.

But...if I plug in my laptop, it starts up fine, monitor and all. Even better, if I start the laptop on AC, wait for it to finish loading Windows, and then unplug it, every continues to work. It's kind of like I have to jump start the monitor, and once its running its fine. I have tried googling the problem to no avail, and HP support doesnt even list my laptop anymore. I came across this site and hope you can help me.

I really havent tried anything other than shaking my fist and silent sobbing, so I am open to just about any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

I think the problem with those sites is I dont know how to word my problem..thanks though....its nice to know HP still remembers my old laptop

I just thought that link (which has some trouble-shooting options) might help.

Another possibility is a faulty battery. Returning (exchanging) it to the retailer wouldn't be a bad idea.
