Hi,

I have a P4 3.2 GHz on a gigabyte motherboard, 1Gb RAM and a GeForce 6800GT graphics card running Windows XP.

My machine was working fine until recently when I started to notice occassional slowdowns when playing games. Virus checks and antispyware were all negative. I cleaned the inside of my case (which I do every couple of months) and removed my graphics and memory to check that the connections were clean.

Everything looked ok so I put it back together but now it wont start.

I have a couple of fans with LEDs in the case and when I turn the power on I get a brief burst of light from the fans and the CPU fan moves a fraction but then nothing else.

I've tried connecting the PSU to another motherboard and it looks ok as it powered it up fine.
I've tried reseating the memory and graphics but it makes no difference.

I'm starting to think I've damaged something but there are no obvious signs.

Any ideas on what I can do or look at first as money is extremely tight at the moment and I can't afford to be replacing bits that aren't broken?

Any help will be gratefully appreciated.
