my cd rw/dvd drive is detected as a cd burner and dvd rom. however when i go to burn a cd it does not reconize the black cd's so when i go to burn it tells me to insert a blank cd any ideas?

Though that doesn't really help you in this case, best I can tell you is to try a couple of cds from another stack of another color. If those work, you know you need to test burn next time you want to try something new.

i meant BLANK CDS not BLACK CDS my bad

i am having a similer problem a have a DVD/ CD burner it can not read any blank CD's or DVD's i have come down to two sulutions but have not tried either would like to find out more first. one is finding and installing a new driver for the burning software but my computer it self is also not reading the blank disk secondly i was told to update the firmware for the drive but on the drives web site it sead that the problem is caused by the driver not the firmware if you have found out any more of if any one else has an idea please let me know thank you
