Pedro, it all depends on what your needs are. What speed you want and how much $ you really wish to spend. I have an HP and I am quite sure Jazzman does too, but these are quite big to carry around..........although I do run Photoshop on it.

Do you want to run big programs and use it like a desktop? Or do you just want it for work Docs?

I don't think I would go generic if I were you........Maybe give us an idea of what you will need it for....

Pedro, if you run PS and other big programs I can recommend the HP from personal expererience.

I think Jazzman has an HP too, so he would be good to answer this as well..........

Here is a link to the one I have........

    http://h50025.www5.hp.com/hpcom/au_e...08summary.html

It is very heavy, and I get some strange or either envious looks..........I think most ppl think I am crazy.:eyespop:, but this is like a portable desktop and as to date I have never had one problem with it.

Just try and get XP Professional installed on what you buy.......it is far superior in my opinion to XP Home.

    Good Luck!

Hi Pedro, I cannot really ethically tell you which to purchase, but either of those would be good Laptops. They are heavy! I think Vidster has a Toshiba, and I must admit, I do like the Toshiba screen colors.......they seem slightly better than mine, but there is no real technical reason as to why they appear that way..........

Baseline........the end choice is up to you.

Now you have some references, and Toshiba would be good to look at as well, then you can go out and shop around until you find one that really suits you.

What we do when we want to buy a laptop is go to our local computer store and check the ones out there. So far my dad has been happy with Sony's, however they arnt the best for CPU intensive applications.
HP's are definatly very nice, as are Toshibas. You should also ask Tyler about Dell's :P
