I have a PC Tel Modem in my machine and am trying to install the driver. I downloaded the drivers to my computer. There are several files. When the machine detects the modem, I will choose (specify file) and direct things to the driver file that I downloaded but, it only shows one INF file and the rest are not there. I looked at the bottom to choose all files, but it's not highlited and there is no access. I tryed going to the top tool bar and and clicked (show all files) etc but when I repeat the process, the same thing happens. My question is, how do I get access to all of the files that I downloaded so I can get my modem working?
I forgot to add this: The operating system is Windows 2000 PRO.
This is a Lap Top.

install the chipset driver first then RESTART your comp, I suspect that that INF file you are seeing is the chipset driver and needs to be installed first, look at this for an explanation ************************************************** **********
* 1. OVERVIEW
************************************************** **********
The Intel(R) Chipset Software Installation Utility installs
Windows* INF files to the target system. These files outline
to the operating system how to configure the Intel(R) chipset
components in order to ensure that the following features
function properly:
- Core PCI and ISAPNP Services
- PCIe Support
- IDE/ATA33/ATA66/ATA100 Storage Support
- SATA Storage Support
- USB Support
- Identification of Intel(R) Chipset Components in
the Device Manager
Intel advice that this driver is installed before any other software drivers.
Hope this helps![]()
