Hello guys

Im using MSI 865 Neo platinum board, nvidia 5700 ultra, 2.8 prescot processor.
When I bought the system it had a problem of heat .........like at start up it showd
55 degrees centigrade.
But it did not affect me cause I enjoyed my gaming and applications
I reinstalled windows abt a week ago, and since then ( I believe ) the machine is behaving abnormally. While playing NFS most wanted , the game minimizes and a screen shows up " temperature over limit click to shut down" and indicates a high of 83 degrees...........and some times it simply restarts

It sounds to me with that high of a temp that you need to replace the thermal solution (probably factory thermal pad) with some Artic Silver and get those temps down there. 55c is way too much for idle with that cpu and motherboard. My 2.8 (spare computer) idles at 32c and under stress only gets to 48c. It has never been over 50c in the three years that I have had it making it work full load.

Is this a home built? Did you build it? If so, did you use the thermal pad or Artic Silver? What fans are already in your case? Where are they located and which direction are they blowing? Is the heatsink fan blowing down as it should or pulling hot air up?

Post back with more information and maybe one of us can help you to get those temps where they should be....that should help the problem you are seeing.
