I have questions on RAM and Video cards.

Video card first:
I haven't been gaming on my computer since 2002-3>tomb raider days and I decided to start playing The latest tomb raider game on my pc only to discover that it wont play since i have a SHOCKING 8mb video card.It requires a 16mb card. I've decided to upgrade to a better video card. I'm thinking 64-128mb b/c its in my price range but the questions are, where exactly do install my video card if I buy it? What type? If I can't remove th old oe can i just Disable it and enable the new one? I want to know everything there it about it.I am not a heavy PC but i would like to play games like Half-life2, GTA:san andreas nothing higher than that range of quality.Where is a video card located at?


RAM:
I have two sticks of 128mb ram~256 total. If i buy a new video card should I also upgrade my ram? I would like to also upgrade since my computer CPU usage goes up really high just when i open like 3 different basic applications like internet browsers and such. What type do I exactly need?
I took out one stick of RAM and it said this:
Apacer UNB PC133 CL3 128mb.
Is it SIM or DIMM?Please help me out.

256 mb ram
40 gb HD
cd/dvd combo drive
I dont use 56k modem
8 mb video card
