I had fun yesterday (well a few days ago) and priced up this nice new PC...

Whatcha think? I tried to get the most for gaming but also a reasonable amount of power for other things, like video rendering and other memory intensive applications (hence the 2GB RAM ).

Looks good from what I can see Alex. But personally ain't a fan of small PCs if you want one, there's a laptop with a mouse for that

Well, the case I have now is an Antec Perf Plus 1080AMG (a big case). I figure I'll cram it full of HD's and use it as backups. That little case can fit 2 regular size HD's .
Also I like the idea of picking up my PC and carrying it downstairs to play over my Surround Sound system and projector!

I like the idea of small cases and these days they're great quality too. I've even considered replacing our tower with something smaller. Having the spare £££ is the biggest stumbling block though :?

What monitor are you going to be hooking it up too?

My wonderful beautiful 21" 3 year old Sony CRT! I'm hoping to get a LCD monitor soon, but for now I love my CRT! Plus it can take abuse (yesterday the printer fell on it ).

Shuttle XPC makes some of the best small cases out there (and the nicest). If you look at any of the pics of the Shuttle I choose it can fit two harddrives (2 OF THEM!) as well as has a bunch of nice features. The one downside: no PCI slot (PCI Express x16 and x1), but I don't use my PCI slots now anyway, so it doesnt matter too much.

Did you read how alot of them said that case was noisy?

Can't be any louder than my Perf Plus 1080AMG, and I can always replace the loud fans (the heatsink fan is supposed to be pretty quiet, its a silenx fan after all).
