    Odd pc issues.

Ok Guys. At first I thought I may have statically charged my pc. Now I think it is a harware issue.

Last night the pc would not boot up. No graphics came up and I tested the card in another machine it worked fine.

Tonight The machine booted up started going into windows I was at the screen with the scrolling line and then it rebooted, Did this 2 times more and now again nothing is coming up. It is not the monitor it is not the grapics card what do you all think?

    Thanks,
    Jim

I'm probably the worst qualified person here on hardware but i would check the RAM in case it has become unseated and run a memory test (once you get it to boot).
Give the inside of your case a good clean out as well. I can remember Rob suggesting it and it solved the problem.

The RAM could stop your computer booting altogether
Bare in mind that your RAM is checked during POST. If there is a problem with it your OS might not even try to boot.

When you check the RAM is seated good, actually take the RAM modules out, then re-seat them 2 or 3 times. Sometimes the pins can become dirty. Also, try each stick one at a time in each slot, booting every time you make a change to test it.

With hardware problems the solution always comes from a process of elimination i.e unhook everything but your graphics card, processor, one stick of RAM and the power cable to the motherboard. Then try to boot each time you re-connect some hardware. Once the problem starts again you've found the falting hardware.
