Okay, here's my plight.

My power supply recently blew up on me. Replaced it.
Everything was fine until my PS blew again.
Got a new power supply and my computer still would not boot. It turns the fans on for about 1 second and then they stop. Tried this with two power supplies.
Thought it might have been my MB, so I bought a new one. Same story. Fans for one second, then nothing.
The only other thing I could think of is the ATX switch, but tried a different working one with the same results.

Does anybody have ANY idea what's going on??

Hi,

Don't know if you have this fixed yet, but if not have a couple of suggestions. It actually sounds like you have a short someplace. Here is how to troubleshoot that:

Take the motherboard out of the case and place it beside the case on a piece of cardboard or a non-conductive surface.

Take ALL connectors and other things off the board except the following which you will want to hook up.

Hook up the ATX connector, the Sqaure 12 volt molex plug to the motherboard, the CPU, the Heatsink and Fan which must be connected to the motherboard. Put in one stick of ram (and check your manual to see which slot only one goes in because they are differenct at times), the video card, the monitor, the keyboard and mouse and the off/on switch wires (2 wire connector to the front panel header), and the speaker wire.

DO NOT hook up any pci cards, no drives, no cables, nothing, nada, zip or anything else.......fire it up and see if it works. If it does, then add something and try it. If it does not, then take out the video card and see if it beeps.

Report back and we will work with you from there.

Addendum: Common short areas are too many motherboard standoff posts, misplaced posts, between the motherboard and the case, between the PCI cover bars and the motherboard, and between the I/O back plate and the motherboard.
