I recently put my motherboard, CD and DVD drives into a new case. I hooked everything up in the same slots as before and yet my CD/DVD won't read disks and it gives me an I/O error. I think its something I hooked up wrong. Any pictures or info will be greatly appreciated. I have 2 ribbon cords, blue end with 3 slots in total slave goes in CD and master goes into DVD. One black cord that goes directly into my hard drive. The slots are right next to eachother, blue on the left black on the right.

Try this, does that help at all?

This is what my motherboard looks like. I have the big ribbon cable (three connectors) plugged into the blue one and the hard drive one into the black one. I have 2 jumpers (small little things) plugged into both drives. The DVD one is in the master postion (middle) and the CD in the last one on the right. Is that why its not working. The site you gave me said what I already new. Though thanks anyway. Hopefully what I said will help you get a better idea.

Sorry about the top but the 3 connectors are in the black plug and the Hard Drive is in the Blue
