    Laptop screen resolution issues

I'm using a laptop and the screen resolution goes up to a whopping 1600x1200. The problem is everything is miniscule. If i go and change the setting's, the actual screen shrinks, leaving me with a black border :?
I hope this is just a simple setting i need to change
Someone help before my eyes pop out :eyespop:

I think you can change the DPI to get things looking th right size then you should be able to get rid of any border effect by changing the refresh rate.

I changed the DPI to maximum and it works but only for certain things :? EG: The text in the forum's reply box's is fine but the reply/quote buttons etc are still tiny.
The border situation is still the same. If i change it too 800x600 i'm left with a tiny window in the middle of the screen.

Well this sounds like a driver issue. Go online and find an updated driver for it!
If this dosent work, tell me what laptop you have, and what model it is.

Well i never had drivers installed when i received it and i had no way of identifying the model. About an hour of searching through google gave me the model # though
I then managed to find some drivers on the Siemens website for the display and the sound (I had no sound too).
The new drivers give me loads of options to change the screen resolution but if i make the resolution smaller, i'm still getting the entire windows 'window' shrinking. I found an option to stretch the window to fit the screen but it's greyed out and i can't select it
    One more thing to note:
In device manager i have another driver that's not installed and i can't find it for looking :?
    All it says is
    ?Other Devices-?PCI Simple Communications Controller
No other info is provided and i have no idea what it is. Maybe this is part of the problem?
    Laptop Info
    Fujitsu Siemens C-Series LifeBook Model # c1020

PCI Simple communications controller is usually a modem driver...

    Update:
I've been playing with every setting i can find and i've managed to change the size of all text/icons on the laptop, with a few exceptions............
Every image on the internet is still tiny and for some reason there are still sections of text that remain tiny?
IE: At the top of the reply box it says
CbtTechs - Free Computer Help and Technical Support Forum > Hardware > Hardware > Laptop screen resolution issues
This text is still tiny in comparison to most other text on the page :?
Just wondering if it could be a Firefox issue as i've changed the default font settings in Firefox?

Not all sites allow you to increase the size of the font on the page, it seems vB does allow it.
