Do you know where the sound is coming from? What is the make/model of your computer? Operating system? We need more info.
Not sure what info you need, but heres this: Intel Pentium D925 dual core, 2 x 2mb cache/8005Mhz FSB
Memory 1 gb DDR2. 160gb 7200rpm Hard drive, (Motherboard = QwE socket 775 4 DDR2/16 x PCle/3 PCI/SATA2/vide0, just copying what it says on paperwork! Using windows XP
have more info if needed.
I think you are right in saying theres a 'PROBLEM' ! because it was working fine until a month or so ago. I have had the pc about 3 1/2 years, someone told me to clean inside (which I never have).
A while ago it was making an intermittant alarm sound, I turned the pc around so it wasnt against the corner and that has stopped now.

Sorry about the confusion but I never said anything about a problem. That is a standardized set of questions that is in my signature. Have you looked in your manual about what an alarm sound means? Is this a custom system? Do you still have the buzzing or did that go away when you moved it?

Haven't got a manual! Got the pc off an ebay shop a few years back!
No the alarm sound stopped after I moved it.
But the buzzing sound when I try to burn a DVD is still there. I was thinking its when the computer is trying to do too much! Im worried the hard drive is about to give out!
Sorry dont know too much about the workings of computers.
To find out where the sound is coming from I will have to burn a DVD again and listen a bit more carefully. DOH!
Just tried it again (burning a DVD), the noise is actually a high sound and it seems to be coming from where the fan is!
