I have had my new computer for over a year now with no probs. However I got a new screen and after a few weeks it began to get fuzzy lines all over it. When I reboot the computer it fixes itself for a while but after around 5 minutes it goes fuzzy again.

I have tried switching monitors and the same problem happens, so I don't think it is the monitor itself, it must be related to the graphics card.

My computer's specs are:
- AMD Dual Core 2.7Ghz; XP professional
-4Gb RAM
-Nvidia 8600GT Super 1Gb
-Optima flat screen monitor

Any help would be gretaly appreciated,

I agree that if you tried another monitor & you have the same problem then it probably isn't the monitor but if you can why don't you try hooking it up to another computer. Also when connected to the same computer try connecting it to another plug plug. Move anything that right cause interference out of the way (ie speakers, tv, radio, etc). If you can remove the video cable try another one.

If that doesn't help I would uninstall and reinstall the most recent graphics drivers. You will need to get it first form the manufacturer's website which isn't neccesarily nVidia. nVidia just made the chip but not the card.
