Unhappy Getting a better wirless signal?!?

Hi this is a little unusual but here we go....

The company that i rent my flat from provide wireless access to broadband.

The issue that i have is that the router is in the house next door and i get a terrible signal and that really annoys me.

Is there any way for me to improve the signal im recieving from my flat withought actually touching the router, simply because i cant.

Another question is if i were to buy a wireless repeater would it be simple to set up. i have the login details for the router homepage so accessing that is not a problem and would i have to buy a certain make or model?

At the point all i know is that the router is a NETGEAR brand as we have one that is not in operation in our flats.

    Thanks in advance guys!!!

Certainly a better antenna on your side is one option. You need to move as close as you can and minimize the number of walls between you.

A repeater must have a good signal to repeat. If the router is just too far away, or there are too many walls and other interfering devices, then even with a directional antenna, it may not be good enough.
