For the last 2 years I've been using a 500G external seagate Free agent HD with memeo autobackup software to backup my internal C drive, with no problems. I've recently purchased a Buffalo 1.5T external drive which also comes with memeo backup software. I have plugged the new drive into a second USB port and set the software to backup my internal C drive as well as the old seagate drive which is still plugged into a USB port.

The new external drive backs up the internal C drive, but will not backup the files on the old external drive. It copies the folders, but not the content. There is roughly 250G on the old drive. When I go to the old drive to "cut and paste" the folders to the new drive, it also will not allow it. I can go down into the detail files and one by one copy them, but that will take forever, plus I want to continue using the old drive if i can back it up to the new one. An added complication is that with both external drives plugged in, when I restart my computer it will not reboot. The screen remains black. During the bootup, if I unplug the new external drive it boots right up normally.

At this point I just want to get the files off my external old drive and onto my new drive as they are very important to me, mostly purchased itune songs, family pictures and video.

Any thoughts?
