Can I upgrade the graphic card in S42?
It's a nVIDIA® GeForce® 9600M GT GDDR3 256MB VRAM.

I'm thinking a GeForce® 9700M, or its variants, as they're 512MB.

I will go with a 90% certain: No.

These so called cards are in 90% of laptops actual motherboard chips so there is nothing to upgrade but the laptop itself.

In the 10% chance I am wrong do you have the users manual to check?

If not we can search for it online.

You might be able to use Nvidia System Tools to overclock the 9600M GT. I say might because if memory serves, the hybrid graphics driver doesn't work with Nvidia System Tools. Should it come to that, you'd have to update the BIOS to R3.06, which is what I'm on now. By doing so you'd sacrifice the 5 hour battery, but gain the freedom of using the most updated drivers downloadable from Laptopvideo2go.
