    Monitor Help, Please

    Hello,

The family computer monitor one day stopped working all of a sudden, and began to flash and so we bought a new one.

I hooked up the new monitor and it appeared to be working fine until it started to go black and would only come back on by turning it off and then on again. After doing this about ten times it just stopped working all together. It won't even turn on.

Checked the connections, they seam to be okay.

Is this a hard drive issue or a virus problem?
    Please help.
    Thanks.

I think that you are having a problem with your power but can you connect it to another computer? Do you have another video cable or power cable that you can substitute. If this is a brand new monitor I suggest that you take it back for either a refund or exchange. Now I need to know how you are connecting your monitors' power cord. Are you plugging ithem directly into the wall, into the computer, or into a surge protector? Your monitor as well as the computer needs to be connected to at least a surge protector and not just a power strip. Have you had any power disruptions lately?

Tried another video cable, didn't work. I'll try the other power cable, though.

It is in a surge protector. As for any power faliurs, I really can't remember.
