    CPU Temp getting high

Whats up guys/gals....I have a Quad Core 2.4ghz and I had to go buy an after market heatsink and fan because one of my plastic screw that you have to insert in another piece broke. So, I just went to my local comp store and bought a Cooler Master heatsink & Fan. My temp is on start up is 50 and it climbs up to 60. Here is what SpeedFan reads:

This is not under test and the below one is under test while I am playing COD 4

Looks fine to me. GPUs run hotter than CPUs.

So, don't worry about it? Even if GPU gets around 70? I just looked at the "fire" symbol by each CPU and figure thats too hot.

Thanks, btw, what does GPU stand for?

I have no clue what card you are using so I can't say that. But many graphics cards run into the 80s and 90s with no problems, and some go beyond 100°C. But generally speaking, 70°C for most graphics card would not bother me.

GPU is short for graphics processor unit, a main processor unit similar to the central processor unit (CPU), only dedicated to graphics.

What worries me is his idle CPU temps, 51C-55C, while his max quad temp is listed at 71C.

I don't have any experience with quad-core temps, so maybe it's normal.
I hope to see someone here, who knows.

I see 44 and 46, not 51-55 so not sure what you are referring to.

And as I noted in another thread, there are many CPUs that run in the 50s so that is not a problem either.
