    Unhappy Pc does not start

    Hi everyone,
I need some help and good advice. I have a PC that starts correctly until the screen (choose safe mode, safe mode with command etc...) and it freezes...I restart the PC using reset button and it goes again but until the memory check (it says Memory DDR 400) and it stops...freezes...At this level, even I try to reboot..nothing happens..I can't access BIOS...just frozen...I had to remove the CMOS battery to get back to "normal"...means what I described in the beginning..
sorry folks..it sounds confusing but frustrating for me..any answers?
    Thanks
    Mebkab

What is the make and model of the computer?

    What is the operating system?

    Is this a new problem?

If so what possibly happened to cause it?

    Hi jephree...thanks for the reply...
the make is a COMPAQ ...OS=windows XP....I got it as is, so I don't know what may have caused this...
when the first time the PC boots correctly it shows this:

main processor Intel Celeron 2.4Ghz (133*18)
    Memory testing 458752 OK + 64 M shared memory
    DDR Dimm speed : 200

and then after some successful tests, it brings me to the choice (safe mode etc...)...I don't touch it and count down starts from 30 to zero seconds...nothing happens ...actually it freezes ....
I restart the PC and the first screen is :

main processor Intel Celeron 2.4Ghz (133*18)
    Memory testing 458752 OK + 64 M shared memory
DDR Dimm speed : 400 and just freezes here...

    I hope this helps...

Can you find the exact Compaq model? There should be a label somewhere.

    See this for desktops:

    Laptops:

Also did you receive a Compaq Recovery CD?

And just to verify: this computer has never worked properly for you?
