Re: USB 2.0 TO SATA IDE CABLE does not work properly

I tried the USB device and HD 3.5 on my friend's laptop and it worked fine without any problem.

His OS is XP , does not have any utilities installed on his laptop , unlike mine which I have got heaps of utilities.

Therefore he told that might be my problem,,,,Any input for such type of suggestion ?

Exactly what "utilities" ? We can't answer that question until we know what you are talking about. Please be specific.

As a last resort you could reinstall windows.

I meant by this : all programs that I had installed on my system (zip, Rgistery cleaner, pdf converter, download mangers, MSN, ICQ,,,,,,,,etc)

Personally I think that this is an OS or perhaps even a hardware issue indicated by the fact that windows wants to reformat it. One think that you can do is to back the data up a computer or an external drive and let windows reformat the drive. That might solve your problem. Another thing to keep in mind is that this might be an indication that your drive is slowly going bad. I would back the data up perhaps on an external drive especially if you have had any read/write failures. Have you?

OK guys I brought one as well and have the solution

    Go here

ftp : // satotech . serveftp . com / Ritmo / (Without the spaces. They are only the cause I have to have 5 posts or more to put in links)

Scroll down until you find USB TO IDE-SATA CD-735 (13th from bottom). This will fix your problem. It's the actual drivers that you should receive when you buy it.

    Enjoy and have fun

Oh yeah don't forget. Once you have finished unplug and restart your computer. I use Vista 64 bit and the drive stays in the list until I restarted.
