    not sure where this belongs...

    So, here's the scoop....

The other day my wife tried updating/installing the Uniblue Powersuite 2009. She said everything went fine, including installing their driver update program. She did this without making a backup point. It changed the font and crispiness of words on the screen. She decided to system restore to an earlier point. After this, we started having issues. The computer will not startup properly. It always brings us to the screen giving us options to start in safe mode, etc. If we choose the option to go to the last known "good" point, it just keeps bringing us to that same screen. We are able to get it going in Safe Mode with Networking. We have uninstalled all Uniblue programs. We are still having issues starting up/restarting our computer. Any ideas on what we can do to fix this? Thanks.

P.S.--I should add that we haven't turned off the computer for a couple of nights now in fear of it not starting up again.

What is the make and model of the computer?

    What is the operating system?

Do you have the operating system disk?

It's a Dell Dimension 9150. Windows XP Home. I don't know where the operating disk is.

See if this helps: (click No on the security warning)

    https://support.dell.com/support/top...g=&toggle=&dl=

If you can't find your XP CD:

    https://support.dell.com/support/top.../backupcd_form

With the CD you could try Recovery options short of a full reinstall.

So I have ordered the install CDs. We can now only turn the computer on in safe mode. Before, we could get lucking and it would start up to what seemed normal. Now, the only way to get it on is in safe mode. Being in safe mode we can't install anything. Uniblue tech has advised us to reinstall/rerun the program in a couple of different ways. We can't even do that though.

Any idea on how to be able to install things in safe mode or get the computer starting normal? Thanks.
