I do remember at one point, after messing around with the RAM, I got one short beep followed by 1 long beep.
So I shut it off and turned it back on and there we no more beeps except for the POST beeps.

Hey, sorry to respond so late, but my computer isn't fixed so I have no access to internet at home.
The remedies you've provided have been ineffective. Nothing has changed, I even tried a different motherboard, nothing.. so I don't think that it is the PCI-E anymore.
I have tried everything people have offered, I do get beeps when all the RAM is removed meaning the motherboard should be in working condition.
Have you tested the PSU or tried a different one?
Hey, so I had someone come over and take a look at my computer. Turns out I did have integrated graphics. I have VGA and DVI, but for some reason only VGA works. If I plug into DVI, it wont work (this is for integrated even). I have checked the BIOS and there is nothing about switching between integrated and PCI-E..
My motherboard model is M2N78-LA
Also, I had my friend who has a better rig than I, take my graphics card and test it. He said it worked 100%, so I believe that it is my motherboard. I am considering buying a new one, but my question is.. could it be that for some reason it went back to integrated and thats why it doesn't work? If that is so, why doesn't DVI work?
Also, would it randomly change while my graphics card is working, making it freeze.. I don't think it could.
Please help before I make a stupid purchase for something I didn't even need to!
Well the last time you posted you said you couldn't even start this computer.
Now you appear to be saying you can.
So the only problem is your DVI is not working?
When I first posted, I said it was starting, just nothing was displaying on the monitor. After finding out I do have integrated graphics it will display but ONLY when I plug into the VGA. If I try to plug into DVI (integrated or PCI-E) nothing will display.
What i'm now asking is, do I need a new motherboard because something is messed up? Or is there a chance it got switched to integrated only (but in that case, why wouldn't the DVI work?)
There is nothing in BIOS that relates to this. Even when I google the type, people are having the same problem finding how to switch integrated.
I think I just need a new motherboard, but I don't know. Thats why i'm asking here.

What is the exact HP/Compaq computer model?
I'd like to see the manual.
HP Support & Drivers
HP m8530f is the computer.
Hi BigB03
just had a quick scan through your thread, Have you tried booting into safe mode completely un-installing the drivers, and then rebooting the pc back to windows normally and re-installing the drivers.
cause this only works if you can get into safe mode![]()
HP Pavilion Media Center m8530f Desktop PC
Unfortunately there is no documentation on the BIOS Settings which I was hoping for.
Anyway can we clarify a couple of things?
1. The VGA on-board is fine but the DVI is not?
2. Does the VGA work on the PCI_E card or is the card only DVI?
