Hello, everyone.
I also have the problem with my pc turning itself off. I am using P5N32 SLI-PREMIUM board, 700w power supply, 2x1gb RAM 677Mhz DDR2, Pentium D 945 LGA775 Socket Processor 3.4 Ghz, 800FSB, MSI videocard NX7600GT 256 Mb DDR3, 3XHDD 320GB, 320GB, 160GB, also upgraded heat sink (Cant remember name of it) very standart looking. I built the pc myself but was having problems with it since the day one. It never booted properly when cold, but once it warmed up till about 22 degrees it ran like a charm. I was fed up with that and after digging the web i came to conclusion, that the thermal grease was not put on properly. Got new thermal grease, small square patches, took the whole pc apart, put new grease on the processor, put everything back and powered up. Got the short check beep, seemed ok, but then it shuts itself off. Tried to unplug every little thing and restart it, but nothing works. Reset the bios with taking the battery out, no luck. I feel like putting a big brick through it already. Please help. Thank you for reading this book.

Well, to be sure your did do it right, see my sticky on TIM.
Since this is a brand new build, and it never worked right, I would pull everything out of the case and set it up on a smooth flat non-conductive surface, using JUST the motherboard, 1 stick of RAM, monitor, and power supply. NO drives. Then start it up. You should see the boot process start, then halt when it cannot find the boot drive.
Did you ENSURE you did not destroy any of the sensitive devices from static discharge?
If it works on the table, inspect the case to be 200% sure you do not have any extra standoffs screwed into the case that do NOT have a corresponding motherboard mounting hole.
1. I did clean the processor and the heatsink with soft cloth, didn't use any alchocol based liquid.
2. I did use anti-static wrist strap, don't think i have damaged the board.
I will try to pull everything out this evening and try to boot it with minimal hardware. I don't have any extra satndoffs, a actually missed three when i took it apart, so i added three extra, but they did match the holes in the board and they are secured with screws.
It sounds like to you took the necessary precautions. We'll see what happens when you try it outside the box. If you are really truly sure nothing extra is under the motherboard, and your case is big enough you can work around without scrapping your knuckles and get blood all over the place, and without knocking loose any wires, you may want to just disconnect all the drives and extra RAM without pulling the motherboard.1. Also, make sure any extra power leads required by your motherboard and your graphics card are connected too.
That might sound weird, but my graphics card doesn't have any additional power supply for it. My old one did have. I found that very strange.
I will pull the board out as well, just to be 100% sure.
Thanks for the advise
Many don't. Keep us posted. That might sound weird, but my graphics card doesn't have any additional power supply for it.
I will keep you posted, your stuck with me on this one![]()
Good moning everyone. So i took my pc apart last night. Had the board on the table, rechecked the processor, connected only one fan, graphics card and one stick of ram. Nothing changes, still the same, it turns itself off after about 10 secs. I had another board at home, my old one - ECS PF5 Extreme, did the same with the old board the same thing, just to see if it's the processor fault, but it worked fine. Therefore i think that my P5N32 SLI PREMIUM is damaged. Is there anything that could be wrong?
Sure looks like the board. I would pull the battery for few seconds to reset the BIOS in the hope that is it. If not, get an RMA and send it back.Is there anything that could be wrong?
I already tried the battery thing, no luck. There is nowhere i can send it back either, it has been more than a year since i have it! I am gonna have to get a new one. I am looking at ASUS P6T DELUXE V2, but i am going to get everything else new too, since my old spares are not compatible with it. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for your help, you have been very good. Cheers!
