    Re: Computer Turning itself off

IDK, i press the delete button to get to the BIOS menu and it takes me right to that message again. This is the same IDE hard drive that was attached to this mother board before. I don't see what the issue is.

Try again. Keep tapping Delete from the start. You apparently did not get it soon enough.

I did as you said and began tapping the delete button the moment the computer turned on. This time it didn't bring me to the same message it did before instead it just went to a black screen and remained there (Still there).

I feel I'm exhausting every solution.

Thank you much for your patients

    This is from your manual:

Power on the computer and the system will start POST (Power On Self Test) process.

When the message below appears on the screen, press <DEL> key to enter Setup.

    Press DEL to enter SETUP

If the message disappears before you respond and you still wish to enter Setup,
restart the system by turning it OFF and On or pressing the RESET button. You may
also restart the system by simultaneously pressing <Ctrl>, <Alt>, and <Delete> keys.
Try again and wait for the message.

You can also watch the POST screen to see if a hard drive is mentioned.

You can also redo the cables to make sure the drive is properly connected.

    Verify the cable is correct:

The blue is in the motherboard and the black is in the hard drive.

You just corrected the issue. I had the cord backwards. It began running the OS but my computer turned itself off and i know that this is due to the CPU overheating . Unfortunately i don't have any TIM to apply, to stop the overheating so I'm kinda screwed atm.

However, thanks to you all of my problems have been resolved. I'll indefinitely be donating.

    Thanks a million, you're a god

Alright so now that i have purchased some TIM and the computer is running and what not, I have another issue I'm needing help with :S. When i throw in my new Video Card I can't get the monitor to respond. I tested with the old Video card and i was able to see everything.

In essence, I put in the new card. and my monitor stays in it's hibernation state (even when I've turned the computer on and it's running)

I put in the old card everything works as it usually would going right to the Log in screen.

What is the make and model of both cards?

Do you have the proper power connections in place?
