hmmm...Do you get these lines for all the DVD movies you play or just this one.
Sorry, should have asked this much earlier...what version of WMP do you have installed? 9, 10, or 11

Per my post 12...Do you get these "lines" with all DVD movies played or just certain ones?
Do you have the latest drivers for your graphics card?
What DVD software are you using?
XP does not natively support DVD playback.
As jephree mentioned you could try installing the latest drivers. I also found a link which sounds similar to yours. There is a Microsoft tool called the "Microsoft Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility"...It will see if you have a compatible video decoderThe Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility helps you determine if an MPEG-2 video decoder (also called a DVD decoder) is installed on your Windows XP computer and whether or not the decoder is compatible with Windows Media Player 10 and Windows XP Media Center Edition.
Download link => http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
the only thing that has a green check mark is the intervideo video decoder and everything else has a red X
also it says that it is not compatible
Try clicking on the green ticked one and click "Set as Preferred". Try and see if it works.
Also have you tried downloading the codecs?
